Police said hospital officials discovered the baby had fractures to his skull, bruising to the forehead and nose. The injuries are said to have happened while the baby's mother was away from the home.
According to the N.C. Department of Correction Web site, Watson was convicted in December 1999 for misdemeanor assault on a female that occurred Nov. 25 of that year. He received probation with a suspended sentence.http://www.shelbystar.com/news/baby-39655-child-department.html
