In May, the 12-year-old victim's mother discovered that her daughter was chatting online with Nimmo, and that the two had met in person at least three times. The woman went to the Aiken County Sheriff's office with the allegations and deputies referred the family to the local child advocacy center, where official say the victim described one of the meetings with Nimmo and his attempt to engage her in sexual intercourse.

Officials later learned that between April 1 and May 29, the man had sex with the girl, according to arrest warrants.

The victim said she had discussed sexual intercourse with Nimmo during online chats, and using the victim's screen name, deputies engaged the man in similar chats.

On Friday, Nimmo, in a Yahoo chat room, agreed to meet with a deputy who was posing as the victim, according to arrest warrants.

He agreed to meet at a predetermined location on Friday evening, deputies say.

When the 25-year-old man arrived at the location, he was arrested.

How does a 12-yr-old get online enough to chat that much with a perv AND get time to meet up with him?

Better late than never, Mom

Nimmo-rod. Leave the kiddies alone. Actually, you'll probably be praying Bubba and his buddies would leave you alone soon enough. I hope he has to sever consecutive terms; he'd be away a looooong time. =)

And if anyone is interested in finding Nimmo, check under Bubba's pillow, cause that fish ain't getting lost any time soon. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

We have recently had to explain to our 11yr old daughter why she isn't allowed to join a Poke'mon forum. In all appearances a pretty benign site, but what better platform for a perv to troll for children. To me, it's a common sense decision, and has nothing to do with her perceived maturity. She's 11!. Although it would have been so much easier to just let her join, and avoid the uncomfortable questions and the dissapointment she felt, we have a duty to protect her. Saying no can be hard!

The problem in this story is parental non-involvement, or worse yet, trying to be the child's FRIEND instead of her PARENT! Both are rooted in selfishness!! And far too often I see adults who are trying to satisfy their social and self-validation needs through their children. Without maturity and security in themselves, how in the hell can they be responsible for a child. And the terrible truth is that there is no viable solution. It is a problem that will plague our society for as long as it remains free.
