An Erie woman is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children after leaving two young girls in a vehicle parked outside Presque Isle Downs & Casino while she gambled.
State police said Naomi M. Bryant, 26, of Erie, left the girls -- a six-year-old and an eight-year-old -- alone in her vehicle Thursday from 7:37 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Bryant was gambling inside the casino during the almost-two-hour span, police said.

those are the ages of my kids, and i can't imagine them being cooperative with this... oh, unless there was a DVD player in the car, and some Spongebob discs...

Yeah, this is a common occurence here in Florida. I live close to the casinos.
Last year I think there was 4 cases just in the summer, but I might be wrong about that number.

I am honestly surprised we don't hear about this type of stuff more often. I guess with tinted windows and, like akika666 mentioned - maybe some entertainment, it goes unnoticed.

Damn. thats just outright sad, if you have enough money to go gambling, you have enough money to pay for a fucking babysitter. God knows what could have happened to thoughs 2 little girls all alone in a casino parking spot.

I live near Black Oak Casino and this is common here too. I once called security when I was walking past a mini van and someone ducked down real fast, it turned out to be an 11 year old girl and her infant sister, they had been there for hours. The casino actually didn't call the police, they got the mother and 86ed her from the casino for life, unfortunately there is another casino 15 miles from that one, so I'm sure it happened again.

Thank you, scorpiogirl. At least you made the attempt.

When my Mom lived in Vegas, this type of stuff would make her so sad. Housewives sitting on stools at the slots in front of the grocery store (yes, they even have machines at gas stations) their children sitting at their feet for hours while the "moms" played.

While far from ideal, it's a heck of a lot better than letting them bake in the car. Sad situation when the gambling is more important than the kids.
For me, "gambling at the grocery store" only happens when I just grab the milk without looking at the expiration date.
