(UK) Two guilty of faith healer murder

Alfusaine Jabbi was found dead in a Luton park
Two men have been convicted of murdering a 22-year-old faith healer whose body was found in a Luton park.

Alfusaine Jabbi was found dead in April 2006 after he failed to repay £14,000 paid to him by a client who felt she was duped, Luton Crown Court heard.

Jurors convicted Tariq Malik, 29, of Selborne Road, and Imran Khan, 27, of Rondini Road, Luton.

Khalid Malik, 28, of Selborne Road, was cleared of murder but found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

Camel sacrificed

Mr Jabbi, who claimed he could help clients through sacrifice, was found dead in Luton's Leagrave Park.

Jurors had heard how customers had paid various amounts for his services.

One man is said to have paid £7,000 for a two-week long prayer and a woman paid £800 for the sacrificing of a camel on her behalf in the Gambia.

The court had heard that Mr Jabbi, originally from the Gambia, was paid £14,000 to help a customer who had infertility problems.

When this did not work the defendants beat him with industrial foil before rubbing salt into his wounds and stabbing him.
