SURPRISE, Az - You send you child to a friend's house to play, and trust they will be well taken care of. But Police in Surprise say a grandfather, Robert Heydorn was preying upon his grand-daughter's friends, during play-dates.
Police say he confessed to inappropriately touching the girls. One of them told her parents they phoned the police, and most of the girls lived near the suspect.

Police said when Heydorn realized he was under investigation, he left the county on an extended camping trip in the Verde Valley. Heydorn reportedly returned last week and went to police.
According to court documents, Heydorn told police he needed to "get some help for hurting all of the girls." The report said Heydorn told police that "if he didn't get any help, he would continue to hurt young girls."
Heydorn also told police that he repeatedly molested an 8-year-old girl while on his camping trip in Verde Valley. Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said it is aware of the confession. No victim of that alleged abuse has yet to come forward.
