Yet another one of those cases where the baby falls on the floor and somehow has blunt-force trauma resulting in death :hmmmm2:
http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2009/05/staten_island_dad_convicted_of.html
Little Rosemary, who was non-responsive, was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze. Afterward, Reardon told police he took the baby to sleep with him in a bunk bed, and awoke to her crying on the floor.
Reardon told police and doctors that Rosemary fell from the bed.
The infant was kept on life support for 10 days until the hospital obtained a court order to remove the machine.
After the medical examiner ruled Rosemary's death a homicide, Reardon changed his story and told authorities he knocked the baby girl off the bunk bed while in a crack-addled stupor.
His sentencing is scheduled for June 2nd
In the newspaper it said little Rosemary died from FOUR skull fractures and hemorrhaging caused by blunt-force trauma and shaking. Doesn't sound like a fall off a bed, now does it?

What an asshole. I bet the baby will have crack in her system from her idiot father smoking around her. Some people shouldn't breed.

COWSPOTS,
The mother is worse then the father. You can't tell me that she did not know he was beating that child. She was accused of beating, and biting her daughter a few yew years back. Her family lived in Tottenville for years, and were considered the low lives of the neighborhood. We will hear about her soon!

A jury today convicted a Staten Island man of killing his 3-week-old daughter in their apartment 17 months ago.
The linked article says she was 3 weeks old. Who the fuck takes a 3 week old into a BUNK bed, ffs? They are not suitable for children under 5, so I would say putting a 3 week old baby in one is a huge no-no. Was it supposed to have been the top bunk? And why was a grown man sleeping in a bunk bed in the first place?!
His story sounds like BS. Especially as he changed it when the death was ruled a homicide.
I hope he gets the full 25yrs, and even that is not enough!

He was sentenced to 25 years to life today

Advance file photo/Michael OatesAnthony Reardon is escorted out of state Supreme Court, St. George, after a court appearance on May 8.
Staten Island dad Anthony Reardon was sentenced to 25 years to life following his conviction last month on second-degree murder charges stemming from the death of his 23-day-old baby girl Rosemary Reardon.
Justice Stephen J. Rooney was the sentencing judge at state Supreme Court, St. George.
Assistant District Attorney Wanda DeOliveira read a victim's impact statement written by the baby's mother, Dawn Hathaway.
"My little princess is gone forever and there's nothing I can do to change that," Ms. DeOliveira read as Miss Hathaway sat in the front row of the courtroom sobbing.
Reardon denied killing his baby and blamed the mother. "I am not guilty," he told the judge. "I've been covering for Dawn Hathaway since the beginning."
District Attorney Daniel Donovan applauded the sentence Reardon got.
"This was a particularly brutal crime in which this defendant, while high on crack, literally shattered the skull of his newborn daughter," he said in a statement. "The defendant deserves to spend the remainder of his natural life in prison where he can reflect on the life he deprived his daughter of."
Reardon's attorney, Manuel Ortega, and his parents all declined comment afterward.

Finally justice for a child...
so many cases of child abuse go unpunished or lightly punished. I truley believe that if you take someones life you should spend the rest of your life in a place where you will never forget why you are there...
If you take the life of a child you should never spend another day as a free man!!!!:doh::doh:
