It's a cell phone charger, not a fucking million dollars. Some people will fight over anything.
Joseph M. Beaulieu, 39, was arrested Thursday at 8:45 p.m. after police said he slashed three of the car's tires and used a key to scratch an insult into the paint of the trunk, according to a police report filed in Framingham District Court yesterday.
Around 11 a.m. Thursday, an employee of Absolute Car Wash on Grant Street called police to report the damage. Three of the four tires all except for the front driver's side tire had been slashed.
Someone also scrawled a misspelled insult directed at a woman on the trunk of the car, the police report said. (This could be fun. Anyone care to venture to guess what he misspelled?)
Later that day, the car's owner said she had seen the security video and recognized the vandal as Beaulieu.
"She stated that Mr. Beaulieu is her cousin and the two have recently had ongoing problems that originated over an argument about a phone charger," according to the police report.
The officer reviewed the video and watched Beaulieu vandalize the car for nine minutes on Wednesday at 11:51 p.m.
Police arrested Beaulieu at his home at 8:45 p.m. and charged him with malicious mischief causing more than $250 worth of damage.
