15 month old Domoniko Ashby dead; Mom's penis blames stairs

Fifteen-month-old Domoniko Ashby was found dead at an apartment yesterday.

Investigators say an autopsy revealed little Domoniko died from blunt trauma. Someone called for help just before 1 p.m. in the 7400 block of 47th Avenue NE.

The child was in the care of the mother's boyfriend who said the boy fell down a flight of stairs.

They didn't check on the baby until 12:30 the next afternoon? You've got to be kidding.

I'm guessing it wasn't the killer stairs. That's right up there with killer bath tubs and killer sofas. I wonder if mom is standing by her man pending the outcome of the autopsy and investigation.

Detectives were trying to determine how and why a Marysville 15-month-old boy reportedly fell down a flight of stairs hours before the child died.

The boyfriend of the boy’s mother was watching the toddler Wednesday night and told police the child tumbled around 9 p.m. from the second floor down a flight of stairs in a rental unit, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said. The child was crying after the fall.

The couple decided not to take the boy to the hospital, Lamoureux said.

“It up to parents' discretion to seek medical help,” he said.

The mom told police when she checked the boy around 3 a.m., he was breathing. The couple went to sleep and when they woke up around noon, the child wasn’t breathing.

They called 911. The child was dead when paramedics arrived. Police were summoned.

The young boy who died Thursday in Marysville had evidence of blunt trauma.

Marysville police reported that the Snohomish County medical examiner ruled that the 15-month-old toddler did not die from natural causes.

Exactly DV. They thought and hoped it would be ok when they woke up and it wasn't. If you are not guilty you take your kid to the ER after he falls down the stairs!

That statement right there tells me that they knew the situation was pretty serious. She went in to check to see if he was breathing?

I used to check on my children to make sure they were sleeping soundly, covered, etc. Can't ever remember poking my head in to make sure they were breathing.

Then, not to check on him again until 12:30 the next afternoon? How do you even sleep that soundly after something like that happens? Accident or no accident, I don't understand how mom could go to sleep and not check on him again for 9 1/2 hours.

I hope they're both charged.

According to the video, she got home at 3:00 am. She was probably working and checked on him when she got home. (just a guess)
