Charged with his seventh driving while intoxicated charge, a Niagara Falls man will spend one year in Niagara County jail and pay a $5,000 fine.

“No judge has ever sent you to jail, but this judge will,” Niagara County Court Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza told Scott D. Aldred, 37, of 65th Street, who pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated March 26.

Aldred was arrested on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls last May 24.

This really pisses me off. 7 times this guy has gotten a DWI and all he gets is one year!!!!!!!! He freaking lucky he hasn't killed anyone yet. He isn't gonna stop, take him about back and shoot him before he gets the chance to destroy an innocent person's life.

I just posted about a guy on his 8th and he has even crashed a plane drunk. The last judge gave him 6 months. The max he faces now is 10 years. Unbelievable.

I've seen stories where these DWI repeat offenders constantly get off with light sentences and fines until they totally wipe out innocent families in one crash.

That's a hell of a *wake up call* to the courts. Get it right the first time JUDGE.

I guess he's going to have to kill someone to get more jail time. Bah!

Sent him to jail? For only a year? WOW! A big slap on the wrist.

DUI laws step up penalties BUT much of it is based on the number of offenses in the previous "X" years (varies by state). Some of his offenses must have been very old if all the judge gave him was a year. Or Niagara Falls has some really lax laws. I wonder why it took almost a year to get it to court?
