Psycho little kids. AWESOME.

When my little sister was in second grade, she was suspended for "inciting a riot" on the playground - a "riot" in which a playground teacher was accosted. I'm glad that wasn't a criminal offense. :p

I wonder why these kids were so pissed at the bus driver and what, exactly, they planned to do to him?

Two of the children were arrested on Friday and charged with reckless endangerment, possession of a dangerous weapon and threatening. A third child was arrested on Monday on the same charges. All three have also been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.

Wow, way to start your criminal career, these kids are hard core. My boys are afraid of knives, they don't want to get cut. What are these kids home life's like if they collaborate a knifing of the school bus driver and threaten a Kindergarten teacher? Little thugs at such a young age at least they will have material for their rap career.

This reminds me of our argument yesterday in 3Things over "intent". Here, the kids are being tried for minor offenses (possession of weapons and threatening), but also for "planning to do harm". What is everyone's thoughts on this?

Intent is everything. Thats why kids get in trouble for biting(obviously you don't accidentally bite someone) and why they may get a pass for stepping on hands or hitting, when they didn't do it on purpose.

Now...if I tell one of the kids to watch where they are walking 400 times and they continue to walk blindly on my feet, they were sufficiently warned what would get them in trouble, so appropriate action is taken.

Bringing knives to school is not an accident. If they brought them because some 12 year old bully steals their money everyday, they may get a warning. If they brought it because the mean stupid bus driver yelled at them to sit down.... do whatever it is you can do to an 8 year old, because you have to kill that attitude young or it will be too much to handle by the time they get to jr high.

LMAO.

I'd love to know how many of the kids' family members have arrests for violence. They sure don't learn this stuff from Teletubbies or Dora.
