OMAHA, Neb. -- A woman has been charged with child neglect and abuse in connection to a crash week ago in which the child was ejected form the vehicle.

Police said Mima Inchin, 22, was holding the car seat that was holding 3-month-old Rafael Angel-Flores when their truck was hit in the intersection of 28th and Farnam streets by a car that ran a red light. Angel-Flores was ejected form the truck but suffered no serious injuries.

The driver of the car that ran the light, 26-year-old Caronda Moore, was ticketed for violating a traffic signal.

Moore was treated at Creighton University Medical Center for minor injuries. Police said alcohol and speed were not factors.

New developments Friday in local breaking news first reported by Channel 6 News Thursday, May 7th. In a car-truck crash, an infant strapped in a car seat went flying out of the truck and landed on the pavement. The mother is now charged.

Investigators say Mima Inchin, 22-years-old, was holding the car seat with 3-month-old Rafael Angel-Flores in it. When the truck collided with a car that had run a red light, Inchin couldn't hold on to the seat and it went flying. There were six people in the 3-passenger pickup: 2 adults, 2 elementary school students and two infants.

Only a chain-link fence kept the car seat from going over a railing and down to the pavement on I-480 below. The infant was not hurt.

The mother is now ticketed for child abuse (neglect).

The driver who ran the red light, 26-year-old Caronda Moore, was also ticketed.
