A 90-year old Troy man has been arrested in connection with the death of an elderly friend. Bob Ingram Pittman was arrested Thursday night shortly after he was charged with the murder of Doris Adams, 82, also of Troy. Adams body was found by family members inside her home May 12th. The cause of death has not been released by police.

There were no signs of forced entry and the doors to Adams home were locked, according to Police Chief Anthony Everage. The two knew each other but no possible motive has been released.

Pittman was arrested without incident at his home and is being held on $100,000 bond. A judge ordered that at least ten percent of the bond be put up in cash before Pittman can be released.

Everage said the investigation is continuing and releasing additional details at this time would be premature.http://dothanfirst.com/content/fulltext/?cid=62671

Authorities say a 90-year-old Troy man used a .38-caliber handgun to fatally shoot an 82-year-old woman during an act of jealousy.

A statement from the Troy Police Department said investigators arrested Bob Ingram Pittman on Thursday and charged him with the murder of Doris Adams. Police said Adams’ body was found by family members on Tuesday at her home. Pittman was taken to the Pike County Jail and held on a $100,000 bond.

Records showed the pair had been in a dating relationship at the time of the murder. Court records showed the shooting happened during an argument Monday night around 9:30 p.m. at Adams’ Brundidge Boulevard home.

Police believe Pittman fired at least two shots, including one that struck Adams in the head, in an act of jealousy of another man. Records also showed police believe evidence showed Pittman may have used a walker or cane to help him during the murder.

A police statement said there was no sign of forced entry at the home. The doors were found locked when family arrived.

Police arrested Pittman at his Sage Street home around 7 p.m. Thursday. If convicted of the class A felony charge of murder, Pittman faces 10 to 99 years or life in prison.

Pike County District Attorney Gary McAliley said Adams will be greatly missed at Troy city hall, where she’d come in at least once a week to do volunteer work.http://www.dothaneagle.com/dea/news/crime_courts/article/90-year-old_troy_man_shoots_woman_to_death/72883/

This story is even stranger than it appears. The argument seems to have been about another man that the 82 year old was also seeing. She was trying to break up with the guy. He apparently did not take the break up too well.
There is also a story going around that this guy spent time in prison for murder in California years ago.
A love triangle, and murder.....at 90! WOW.
