Police were trying to piece together a dispute at a Bolingbrook house Thursday morning that left one woman dead of stab wounds, two men injured and a suspect on the run.

The fight broke out about 6:30 a.m. at the home shared by the three victims in the 100 block of South Lancaster Drive, said Bolingbrook Police Lt. Ken Teppel.

Six children, ages 3 to 17, were also in the home but were able to escape and run to the Bolingbrook Police Department, located behind their house, Teppel said. One of the survivors, a 32-year-old man, also tried to make his way to the Police Department but collapsed in the parking lot, Teppel said.

The suspect, Karl Tynes, 28, of Rockford remained at large Thursday evening after being charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Nicola Williams, 36, according to the Will County state's attorney's office.
Tynes was also charged with two counts of attempted murder in the shooting of the 32-year-old and another man, age 31, officials said. Bail was set at $3 million.

The three victims are not related but Williams and the 32-year-old survivor had a "dating relationship" at one time, Teppel said.

Police discovered a 9 mm handgun at the scene and Tynes' burned car in Rockford, Teppel said.

None of the children was harmed, and all of them were reunited with their mothers or other relatives. The two men were taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

What were all those kids doing there if they were "re-united" with their mothers? Were they visiting their Dads who were injured in the fight?
