TACOMA -- A Fort Lewis solider shot and killed a married couple in their Parkland home, then poured acid over their bodies, according to court documents.

The 22-year-old female soldier was angered because of a failed relationship, the documents say.

The soldier was ordered held without bond on Monday during a brief court hearing in Pierce County. She was arrested Sunday on investigation of murder in the deaths of Timothy Miller, 27, and his wife, Randi, 25. Both were medics based at Fort Lewis.

The soldier also was being held on investigation of kidnapping in the abduction of the Millers' 7-month-old baby.

Court documents say the soldier was upset because her former boyfriend, who also is a soldier, had chosen Randi Miller over her. It wasn't clear from the court documents whether Timothy Miller was the former boyfriend.

The soldier shot Timothy Miller in the bathtub, and Randi Miller in a bed. Then she moved the woman to the bathtub and poured muriatic acid -- recently bought from Home Depot -- on both the bodies, according to court documents.

Authorities learned of the slayings from another soldier, who said the woman soldier had confided that she had killed two people.

She was ordered held for 72 hours until she can be arraigned.

------------

WTF? Who ARE these people who think that they can murder people, steal their baby, and it'll be just that easy?

A Bakersfield servicewoman accused of murdering a couple and kidnapping their baby more than 19 months ago will have her first evidentiary hearing beginning Monday in Fort Lewis, Wa.

The hearing could lead to a recommendation that Army Specialist Ivette Davila be put to death for her crimes, the Army reported Wednesday. If she is convicted of murder, the least she could get is life in prison, the Army said.
[...]

Davila admitted killing the couple earlier that day, saying she was upset Randi Miller was having a romantic relationship with Davila's ex-boyfriend, according to court documents.
[...]

The hearing on Monday is known as an Article 32 pretrial investigation. It is similar to a preliminary hearing in California where evidence is presented by both prosecution and defense attorneys.

The evidence will be reviewed by an investigating officer who will recommend if charges should proceed to a court martial -- the Army equivalent of a trial.

The officer will also recommend whether it is appropriate to seek the death penalty or life in prison. It could be several weeks before he announces his decision, Fort Lewis spokeswoman Catherine Caruso said.

The hearing is expected to take three days, Caruso said.

If convicted, in addition to the prison or death sentence, she would be dishonorably discharged, her rank would reduced to private and she would lose all pay and allowances.

An Army Specialist accused of killing two fellow soldiers and taking their baby will face a court martial.

The Army announced Monday that they have referred charges of premeditated murder, burglary and kidnapping against Spc. Ivette Davila to a General Court-Martial empowered to give the death penalty if she is convicted.

According to court documents filed in Pierce County before the Army took over the prosecution, Davila allegedly confessed to another soldier that she went to Randi Miller's home in Parkland to kill her because she thought the woman was having an affair with Davila's ex-boyfriend.

Investigators, though, said it was not known if any affair was actually taking place.

The MySpaces of Randi and Timothy Miller are quite poignant. Comments still being made.

An Army Specialist accused of killing two fellow soldiers and taking their baby has changed her plea to guilty.

Spc. Ivette Davila entered guilty pleas to two counts of premeditated murder and one count of kidnapping during a military court hearing Monday morning.

In exchange for admitting guilt, prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty.

According to court documents filed in Pierce County before the Army took over the prosecution, Davila allegedly confessed to another soldier that she went to Randi Miller's home to kill her because she thought the woman was having an affair with Davila's ex-boyfriend.

Investigators, though, said it was not known if any affair was actually taking place.

During the hearing on Monday, Davila said she shot Randi multiple times with a silenced pistol while the woman was in bed and then shot Timothy six times while he was in the shower.

"I understood I was shooting them. I understood I was killing them, and I understood I was wrong," Davila said. "That's why I'm guilty."

I believe Kassidy (the little girl) is with Timothy's parents.

This was part of a comment his mother left on his myspace page back in May that made me a bit sad.

Mothers day was such an emotional day for me. I know as kassidy gets older its gonna be a hard day for her too...shes already asking us when you and her mommy are comming home? Your baby girl is such a joy in our life, thank you so much for keeping her safe.

Hope that evil wench enjoys rotting in prison for life without parole for destroying that family.
