Sumei Hu flew into O'Hare International Airport on Feb. 26, returning
to her American husband from a long visit with her family in China.

But somewhere between customs and the terminal waiting area, Hu
disappeared, and now her family and Chicago police are trying to
determine what happened to the 38-year-old Chinese woman.

"It's just incredible. How can somebody disappear out of the airport?"
Hu's husband, Steven Frasch of Sheboygan, Wis., said Sunday.

Video footage shows Hu arriving at O'Hare Tuesday afternoon on an
American Airlines flight from Tokyo -- the last leg of travel from her
hometown of Guangzhou, China -- and checking in at customs, police
Sgt. Jeffrey Peraino said. Investigators are sifting through more
airport footage, he said.

I'll be interested to see how this one plays out. What made me give a WTF face reading the article was the statement, "Police were also trying to determine who paid for Hu's ticket to China. Frasch said a female friend in Sheboygan had paid for the ticket with her credit card, but he could not recall the friend's name." WTF? Someone buys me a plane ticket that easily costs at least a grand, I think my husband will remember that person's name later bcs there is going to be long discussion about why a friend would spend that much money on me!

Yeah, this one's gonna go down one of two ways. The husband did it, or she left on her own. That's my money.

With out knowing the friend's name, and her not showing up from "out of town"...thats easy money that he killed her and she never made the trip. But she DID make the trip. Family saw her and security has her on tape. This is no way to kill someone! We really need to talk to this husband of hers about proper wife-killing protocols.

I was going to put this up front, but I am still thinking she just left on another plane.

I thought so at first,too. I'm less inclined to think that now because she hasn't turned up & barely speaks English. Not knowing the friends name was odd to me, but if its some hard to pronounce Chinese name, then maybe not so much...

There was an older lady who went missing from an airport a couple years ago and never turned up -live or dead- to this day. I think she was in the early stages of Alzheimer's though.

I'm not sure about that..if she was going to skip out on her hubby, why come back and disappear from the very airport he's waiting out front? Don't come back at all, or switch planes at a different airport since this wasn't her only stop. Just my thoughts.

It doesn't sound like she has the means,either.
~~~~~~~~
Sumei Hu, 38, has no money, no credit cards, no cell phone, no way of being reached and speaks limited English, Frasch said. The couple has been married since November 2005, after meeting on an Internet dating service.
"Nobody's heard from her, nobody in the United States, nobody in China, nobody period," Frasch said.
"I left the airport at 10:10 (p.m.) without my wife," Frasch said.
In the six days since, Frasch and family members have made two trips to Chicago to meet with police and look over surveillance video at the airport, which confirmed that she got off the plane, but nothing else. Family members have distributed posters in the city with Sumei Hu's picture, description and a plea to call Chicago police.
"Waiting is terrible," Frasch said. "Where did she go? She has no money, she has no charge card, she couldn't have flown anywhere. The only thing I can think of is she hopped in a taxi … or somebody befriended her at the airport and said 'I'll give you a ride,' because she's a little trusting. She hasn't been seen. How can you disappear from an airport?"
Right now, all Frasch wants to know is whether Sumei Hu is OK.
"I just want my wife back," Frasch said. "If she called me up and said 'I'd never want to speak to you again in my life,' that would make me super happy, because I know she's alive and well."
Maybe someone bought her.
I think if she'd gotten on another plane it would have been discovered by now, they are pretty diligent on those manifests. I'm passing through O'Hare often on business and think its more likely that she's still wondering around terminal 5 due to the lack of signage, in any known language, that they got going around O'Hare.
No lie, Coal Miner Jones's dad. I have to say that I got so lost in O'Hare once that I ended up at Lufthansa and i still have no idea how.
Seems she is no longer missing. I hate when people do this and take time away from finding those that are truly missing.
So glad we didn't go to all the trouble of front-paging the bitch, then. Morbid told me yesterday she was gonna turn up. That man is psychic, or else she's been hiding under his bed all along.
Actually, Morbid had her cuffed and shackled behind his couch. See Morbid, I told you letting her go would leave people with egg on their face.
