Registered sex offender charged with child rape

DELMAR -- A registered sex offender was charged with raping three young children, Delaware State Police said Friday.
Michael Dale Hammond, 27, of Delmar was charged with eight counts of second-degree rape, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of first-degree unlawful sexual contact and one count each of first-degree rape and terroristic threatening, police said.
Hammond is accused of molesting the children -- ages 3, 7, and 10 -- at his home over a period of three weeks, said state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier.
The children were visiting a relative, who at the time, was Hammond's girlfriend.
