I figured I would go ahead and give y'all hounds some background on myself. Maybe I can share some things that y'all don't know just yet. A word of caution, if you don't know me then you don't know my arrogance. Let's just call it a product of my varieties of experience in life. Well, that and my striking good looks. ;)
I grew up a Pac-Rim Navy brat, so I spent my youth immersed in Asian culture, and even had spent some time in multiple states here in the U.S., most notably Hawaii. Because of this I've had a hell of a lot of opportunities to become eclectic in most areas of my life. My music tastes range from Classic country to Classic rock, and from oldies to rap, but I generally prefer a genre called Texas, or Red Dirt, Music with artists like Cross Canadian Ragweed and Reckless Kelly. My vehicle tastes range from owning a Corvette Z06 to a Dodge dually to a totally ridiculous lifted Ford truck that stood about four feet over stock. Maybe I'll post pictures in the DD picture thread at some point. We'll see. That being as it is, I also have an appreciation for the most customized imports and the classic muscle cars. Truth be told, I'd love to have a 69 'Cuda.
I enjoy sports, most notably rodeo, football, and MMA. Speaking of which, I actually had the opportunity to train in Judo and Karate while living in Japan for three years. Beyond that I even spent a little time in Taekwondo while living in Florida. Right now, though, I'm looking at a local Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA gym here in town. As far as rodeo goes, spending some of my formidable teenage years in Texas allowed me to get into bullriding and team roping. Unfortunately, I never really had the time to get fully into it, but it was enjoyable while it was there. Then there are the scars. Women think they're cool, right? Right? God, please tell me y'all still dig 'em. ;)
On the subject of high school, my dad was retiring from the Navy at the time, and we lived here in San Angelo, so he and my step-mom opened a dance studio. Guess who got drafted to be the guy who dances with everyone? Let me tell you, folks, there's nothing worse than teaching people without rhythm how to dance. But, in the end, it did wonders for me. This white boy has got skillz. :D By the way, I am talking about country/western dancing here...two-step, multiple varieties of swing, waltz (I absolutely LOVE to waltz), etc. I just felt the need to clarify that so there is no misunderstanding. The good news is that rhythm is transferable between different musical styles, however, so I also dance well to just about anything else. Remember that arrogance I referenced in my opening statement?
Currently, I am attempting college for the THIRD time. My problem, I have found, is that I have trouble with the strict curriculum required for a business degree. I spend a LOT of time reading, the bulk of which is based upon Austrian Economics, and Classic Liberalism and Libertarianism principles. My majors, which are now Economics, Philosophy, and Political Science with minors in Spanish and Legal Studies, reflect this self-education. This allows me a much greater latitude in the courses I take, thereby causing me to smile a lot more. The hardest part of this is actually finding professors who don't indoctrinate their students into their beliefs, and instead show the big picture, give their students the tools to do their own analysis, and allow them to go on with their own study and come to their own conclusions. And, hey, it all helps with preparation for law school; ideally, I'd like to study Constitutional Law while obtaining my masters in Economics as a dual degree.
Anyway, I guess y'all have a bit more to surmise from me now that I have shared some of my history, and aspirations, with you. I enjoy the hell out of y'all and am grateful I was introduced to this site. I look forward to getting to know those of y'all I don't know just yet, and getting to know more about those of you that I have already spoken with.
For those of y'all who are interested in what I look like, here is a link (http://www.dreamindemon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299) to a couple of pictures on the DD picture thread.
