According to police Joanna Faucett of Campbell Missouri, began investigating the death of a one month old infant that occurred on Wednesday April, 29th.

Police have not released how the baby died, but Faucett is charged with second degree murder and is currently in the Dunklin County Jail.

Her next court appearance is set for Tuesday May 5th.

Police tell Heartland News the one-month-old girl died April 29, 2009 in Campbell.

The infant's mother, Joanna A. Faucett, 24, was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

Faucett is currently in the Dunklin County Justice Center on $100,000 bond. She'll appear in court on May 5, 2009.

The child was one of a set of triplets, however, according to Assistant Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Jonce Chidister, the other infants were not at the home at the time of the incident.

In July 2008, Faucett had another infant who died at 16-days-old, believed at the time to be due to a co-sleeping incident. I guess the thinking is it was not a co-sleep incident. The bitch is capable of killing her baby by strangulation, she's vile, and grade E, evil and should serve a life sentence, better yet she should get death.

i am not trying to hide any thing and to all the people starting rumers about our baby brandy i can tell you this there was NOTHING that pointed to fawel play in any way (( the following statement does not pertain to the people that has helped our family and donated different things)) but to all the people that says things about our baby that they know is not true and that would hurt us at a time like this it is wrong to make hurtfull comments just to have somthing to say when they dont know we loved brandy with all of our heart and we allways will the thing people need to know is that brandy was a planed baby she was not unexpected now why would my wife beg me to take her to the doctor to help her get pregnate if she didnt want a family she loved brandy with all her heart to you could see it every time she held her and the look in her eyes and the good lord knowes it and so does brandy so please do our family a favor if you dont know the truth dont make up somthing just to hurt us if you have any quetsions come to us personaly and we will be more than happy to tell you the truth as long as you dont add things to the truth to make it sound better

KENNETT, Mo. -- A Campbell woman accused of murdering her 1-month-old daughter by strangling her appeared Tuesday in a Dunklin County court.

Joanna A. Faucett, 24, made her initial appearance before Associate Circuit Judge John Spielman on the Class A felony of second-degree murder, according to Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Steve Sokoloff.

During her appearance, Sokoloff said, Faucett applied to have a public defender represent her.

Charles Hirth with the Public Defender's Office entered an appearance on behalf of Faucett, who waived formal arraignment on the charge.

Spielman ordered Faucett to next appear at 9 a.m. May 26.

The complaint on file with the court alleges on April 29 Faucett "knowingly caused the death of (the victim) by strangling her."

The charge was the result of an investigation by the Campbell Police Department, Dunklin County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Troop E's Division of Drug and Crime Control.

Sheriff Bob Holder said he contacted the other agencies after he received a telephone call indicating "there may be something wrong."

The alleged victim, the infant daughter of Daniel and Joanna Faucett, had been found dead in her crib, Patrol Sgt. Scott Rawson said in his probable cause affidavit on file with the court.

The parents, Rawson said, reported Joanna Faucett fed the infant at 2 a.m.

When Joanna Faucett woke up at 7 a.m., "she found (the infant) in the crib, and she was dead," Rawson said.

The infant, according to Holder, was one of a set of triplets born prematurely to Joanna Faucett and had "just been home a short while."

The other two infants, Holder said, were still in the hospital at the time.

During the investigation, Rawson said, officers learned the Joanna Faucett had another infant daughter who died on July 16 at 16 days of age.

"We don't really have much to go on on that particular death," said Holder, who believes a report was made with the Campbell Police Department and an autopsy done. "I think they basically said it was a SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) death."

Holder said officers do not plan to investigate the 2008 death at this point, but it "sends up a red flag."

Faucett, Holder said, was interviewed by officers about the April death of daughter.

At this time, Holder said, he did not want to comment on the circumstances surrounding the death or a possible motive.

"Unfortunately, there is too much of this going on; it's just incomprehensible really," Holder said.
