I don't know how well this will be received, but oh well, I'm doing it anyway. Japanese music is a love of mine and I would like to share that love with others... so I thought I would post a couple of videos a day to expose you all to something that you might not normally be exposed to otherwise.
I'll start off soft...
ガゼット- Cassis.

That was very cool, VK. Thanks for sharing.
What seems like 100 years ago( 6th grade, 12 years old) I went to see Motley Crue, and a Japanese band called Loudness opened for them and I loved it. This was a nice memory jog.

I remember that tour! I liked Loudness better than Crue.
Thanks, Fawn, for starting this thread. I really like learning about cultural shifts in music, and I've been meaning to get into Japanese speed metal for awhile. This will give me a nice kickstart.
I love the video you posted. Talk about pretty boys. And Nick Rhodes' hairstylist should be so proud. :)

I would like to add one of my favorite Doom Metal bands of all time (and arguably, one of the best), the Japanese, Church of Misery.
From the wiki: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_Misery)
Church of Misery's style melds early-era Black Sabbath (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sabbath) style doom with psychedelic rock. Like the American death metal group Macabre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macabre_%28band%29), most of their songs are about different serial killers. After several releases on small independent record labels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_record_label), they released the EP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_play) Murder Company on Man's Ruin Records (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man%27s_Ruin_Records), then moved on to Southern Lord Records (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Lord_Records) to release their debut full length LP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_play), Master of Brutality. In 2004 they released their second full length album, The Second Coming. That same year Japan's Leaf Hound Records (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaf_Hound_Records) released a compilation of their early works. Most recently they have released three split EPs, two with Sourvein (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sourvein&action=editredlink) and one with Deer Creek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer_Creek). They have also released a live DVD of their 2005 European tour.

The thing I like about the Japanese music is the voices. They sound a lot different. I also just like how the Japanese words sound.

I too must of been on that same tour, because I saw Loudness. I also have one of their albums. Yep, that's right, album. I have a whole orange crate full of those big black discs. ;)
