I think this section is a good addition to the forums. I guess I'll go ahead and add my introduction.
I was born in southern WV but now reside in North Eastern PA. I'm a SAHM of 3 children, ages 16 (boy), 14 (girl), and 12 (boy). My family is my life.
I consider myself to be a Christian Pagan Witch, an Empath, & a Psychic or Psi Vampire. I love studying all I can about many different religions & spiritual beliefs such as Christianity, Paganism, Witchcraft, Satanism, Buddhism, Native American Spirituality.
I hate religious intolerance, homophobia, sexism, & racism.
I love to make gemstone and crystal beaded jewelry. I collect all types of gemstones, crystals, & minerals. I love gardening & communing with all of Nature. I love to cook especially with my kids. I love reading & collecting books.
I'm very interested in mental health issues. I'm interested in learning all I can about the latest treatments & ways to fight the stigma that surrounds mental health issues.
Most times I'm rude, crude, and bitchy, but most of that is because I've been burned one too many times and I just don't want people to get too close too soon. I'm a really nice person who is really loving and compassionate.
I found myself here after doing a google search on Melissa G. Dean. I liked what I saw and decided to stay even though I seemed to get off on the wrong foot with certain people on here.
My MySpace page is ladyvalkyrie (http://www.myspace.com/ladyvalkyrie)
My Xanga page is LadyValkyrie37 (http://www.xanga.com/LadyValkyrie37)

Bwa hahahahahaha... wow... thank you for the laugh... um yeah ok... I've already stated this in one of your other posts (concerning religious child abuse) but, I feel the need to express it again... that is if I can stop laughing long enough to post it...
as a Pagan... I must point out (again)... that the word "Pagan" and "Christian" shouldn't be used like that, You are either one, or the other... there really is no in between, combining those to words to insinuate that it is one religion... well that's like insisting an apple is in fact an orange... when it is indeed still an apple...

And I'm surprised that anyone would actually give a "thank you" for your post. You come into a thread where someone is simply introducing themselves to the rest of the board and you attack them with statements you already made to them in another thread. Ok you disagree with my religious/spiritual views... you made your point clear in the other thread... did you really need to bring it here into this thread?
You are not telling me anything I haven't already heard before. You are certainly entitled to your own beliefs and opinions as I am. Now here are my beliefs and opinions.
I'm very eclectic in my spiritual beliefs. I blend Christianity, Paganism, & Witchcraft into my own spiritual beliefs. I also blend aspects of LaVeyan Satanism, Buddhism, and Native American Spirituality into my spiritual practices. I take what I feel is right and beneficial for me personally from each of these religions, beliefs, and philosophies and leave the rest. But to clarify even more, I am a Pagan who embraces the Holy Trinity as my chosen Diety. I worship Father God, Mother Goddess (who to me is the Holy Spirit), and their son Jesus the Christ (the annointed one). I don't believe that The Holy Bible is infalliable. In fact I believe at one time it was the inspired word of God, however, it was written by the hands of imperfect men who have their own selfish agendas. I not only read and study the Holy Bible though. I also suppliment my studies with other Christian and Gnostic texts such as "The Lost Books of the Bible," "The Pistis Sophia," The Nag Hammadi Library," and "The Apocrypha." I look at all of these texts, including The Holy Bible, as spiritual texts that have spiritual lessons within. I apply what I feel is beneficial to me and leave the rest. I also practice Witchcraft... more specifically I'm what they call a "kitchen witch" where hearth and home is my main focus. With that said I am indeed a Christian Pagan Witch... or if you prefer an Ecletic Pagan.
So, disagree with me if you so choose, but religious and spiritual journeys are individual ones. One can't tell another one that their form of religion or spirituality is wrong unless of course someone is being harmed.
I'm curious... do you know what the Amish are? Do you know what the Pennsylvania Dutch are? Have you ever heard of Pennsylvania Dutch Pow-Wow? Many of the PA Dutch (Amish), especially the older order practice Pow-Wow, which is basically folk magick. Imagine that, a group of people who are Christians and yet practice folk magick. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pow-wow_(folk_magic)
Have you ever studied the history of Santeria? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santer%C3%ADa It is a blending of an Afro-Carribean Pagan religion with Roman Catholism.
The lines between Paganism, Witchcraft and Christianity have been blurred for a very long time.

Lady Val, I've a question. How can you be christian and pagan? The two are not one of the same. I found that very interesting and don't believe I've ever heard of a Christian/Pagan/Witch.

I am pagan, I don't think christian and pagan mesh either. Other then the fact that Christians ripped off all the pagan holidays and adapted a lot of their beliefs and twisted them to manipulate the masses. That said spirituality is an individual thing believe what ever makes you happy :)

It's nice to see that there are other Pagans on this board. However, it's sad to see that those same Pagans have such an intolerance for others religious/spiritual beliefs just because they don't agree with them, wouldn't you agree?
In my experience Pagans, Wiccans, and Witches who usually scream at the world that the world must be tolerant of their beliefs are usually the first ones to show their own intolerance towards anything remotely resembling Christianity. It's as though they themselves become the very thing they dislike, a "fundie," someone who sees things in black and white, someone who believes the religious and spiritual lines are clearly drawn, someone who does indeed place their Higher Power in a box and expects it to behave the way they want it to.

From the dictionary. Lady Val, to be Pagan is to have no religion. Christianity is a religion. Even by your explanation above, it still makes no sense. I suppose many folks "invent" whatever they feel they need to help them get.
Now, don't get nasty either.;) I'm not saying I don't like you, just saying "that don't make no sense".

How about you study the Etymology of the word Pagan and how exactly it came to mean what it means in modern times. The word "pagan" comes from the Latin word "paganus" which meant "civilian" or "country dweller." "Paganus" is also related to the Latin word "pagus" which means "the country district." Early in the Christian church's history the churches were mainly found in the larger cities, which meant that the majority of city dwellers were Christians. However, the further outside of the city you went you would find less and less Christians. In fact you would find those who still practiced the land's native religion/spiritual practices. City dwelling Christians referred to such people in a derrogatory was as "pagans." The same can be said of the word "heathen" which originally meant "one who lives on the heath." In modern times Paganism refers to any religion that is not of Christian, Judaic, or Islamic origins.

VisualKei, who started this whole issue in the religious child abuse thread and then brought it here, can most certainly start a Christian Pagan Witch thread and to her hearts content bash the hell out of it. The same goes for everyone else who is choosing to turn my introduction thread into a religious bashing thread. It will just show themselves how religiously intolerant they really are, I guess. However, I do not think you, yourself need to start a thread in the three things section.

Lady Val, it would seem as though you are getting hostile again. I hate hostile vibes. You said right there. Paganism refers to any religion not of CHRISTIAN origins.
So again, How can you be a Christian/Pagan/Witch.
Please don't tell me about Paganism. I have read much on the subject. I would not as a Pagan want to be associated with the twisted, warped world of the Christian.
Peace:)

You feel hostile vibes? lol I wonder why? If you don't like these vibes of mine, then how about walking away? lol I am NOT involved in the warped world of Christianity. I do NOT associate myself with any church or coven for that matter. I'm a solitary practioner. My sanctuary is all of Nature. My altar is my home.
Now you want to talk specific definitions... from the Merriam-Webster's online dictionary.
Main Entry: 1Chris·tian
Pronunciation: \ˈkris-chən, ˈkrish-\
Function: noun
Etymology: Latin christianus, adjective & noun, from Greek christianos, from Christos
Date: 1526
1 a: one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ b (1): disciple 2 (2): a member of one of the Churches of Christ separating from the Disciples of Christ in 1906 (3): a member of the Christian denomination having part in the union of the United Church of Christ concluded in 1961
2: the hero in Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress
Being a member of a Christian Church doesn't neccessarily make one a Christian. Reading the Holy Bible doesn't make one a Christian. According the the dictionary and John 3:16 believing in Jesus and Jesus' teachings makes one a Christian. Even though I refuse to be a part of Christianity as it is known today I still believe I'm a Christian. If anything I'm more like the early Christians than any modern day Christian. I do not allow man made rules and regulations of the Church get in the way of me and my God. Maybe that's why you and others are having a hard time grasping this concept because you are stuck thinking about being a Christian with the understanding of modern Christianity. I hate modern day Christianity. I've always said that I love Jesus, it's just his followers I can't stand. lol
At the same time I'm a Pagan. I believe that Jesus is not the only way. I believe that there is one great divine entity and that great divine entity has many faces. Everyone of us sees a different face of that entity... the face we are meant to see. Some see Jesus, others see Isis, others Buddha, others Odin, ect. I acknowledge that all the stories behind all Gods and Goddesses of the world have spiritual significance and I can learn something from them. That's why I can take what is beneficial to me spiritually from other religions/spiritual beliefs/philosophies such as LaVeyan Satanism, Buddhism, and Native American Spirituality and leave the rest. But the Gods/Goddess I choose to worship is the Holy Trinity.
How is that not like any other Pagan you have ever known? Do all Pagans worship the same God and/or Goddess? No. Do you chastise them for not worshipping the same God/Goddess as you. I sure hope you don't. Then why would you want to chastise me, a fellow Pagan for worshipping my chosen dieties, the Holy Trinity?
And of course I'm a Witch because clearly I practice Witchcraft, more specifically Kitchen Witchery.
I don't know what else to say to you or anyone else. If you disagree with me and my beliefs, so be it. We will just have to agree to disagree. But if you don't want anymore hostile vives, how about you not go around other threads taking pot shots at me like you did in VisualKei introductory thread. I mean come on, for a peace loving hippie you certainly like to stir up the hornet's nest don't you?

If I say I don't believe in "Satan/The Devil/Lucifer/Beelzebub/The Accuser/Prince of Darkness/Father of Lies/Accuser of the Brethren/Son of Morning" then you will say I can't possibly be a Christian. If I say I do believe in "Satan/The Devil/Lucifer/Beelzebub/The Accuser/Prince of Darkness/Father of Lies/Accuser of the Brethren/Son of Morning" you will say that I can't possibly be a Pagan for Pagans don't believe in "Satan/The Devil/Lucifer/Beelzebub/The Accuser/Prince of Darkness/Father of Lies/Accuser of the Brethren/Son of Morning."
It's a catch 22. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. I told you I'm not discussing this issue with you anymore. You already have your mind made up about me and my religious/spiritual beliefs. People like you don't wish to be open and learn, you only wish to tear down things you don't understand and/or don't agree with.

Wow this may indeed be the first intelligent thing I've heard from you... you just proved what I said at the very beginning. They are opposites. Kudos to you there! Talk about conflict... I would not want to be in your head on a daily basis. Your belief system is clearly without logic. How can you "believe" in something and at the same time not "believe" in something? Your absurdity is amusing...
