Bad boys. . .bad boys. I swear this sounds like something straight out of Cops. What an idiot.
A Milton man has been arrested on a number of charges stemming from a road rage incident, police reported today.
Wrentham police Wednesday night informed Norfolk police about the incident on Dedham Street (Route 1A) near the town line.
Wrentham Patrolman Barry McGrath and Norfolk Patrolman Eric VanNess encountered the suspect's vehicle at the intersection of Dedham and Pine streets, and the vehicle accelerated into a dirt parking lot where the driver, Lonnie Wade of Milton, fled into a wooded area near ForeKicks recreation complex carrying a briefcase, Norfolk police said.
Remaining inside the vehicle was a 22-year-old woman and her 20-month-old child, police said.
McGrath chased the suspect and Wade exited the woods without the briefcase and fled toward the rear of ForeKicks, which was open for business. VanNess eventually apprehended the suspect, police added. A search was conducted by Massachusetts State Police dogs and the briefcase was recovered and found to contain a loaded 9mm handgun with a round in the chamber, police said, adding the serial number was obliterated.
Wade, of 28 Concord Ave., Apt. 1, Milton, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, second offense; carrying a dangerous weapon, a knife; possessing a firearm with a defaced number for felony; assault with a dangerous weapon; receiving stolen property, possession of firearm/ammo without FID, two counts; reckless endangerment to children; resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, according to police.
Foxboro police assisted.
