BLAINE - Grainger County authorities are searching for a man and woman accused of beating two children.

Michael Hubbard, 22, and his , Amy Reed, 24, face charges of child abuse and aggravated child abuse, Deputy James Barnes said. Officers went to Smith Hollow Road around 12:30 p.m. today and found Reed's three children - a 2-year-old boy, a 4-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl - left at the home of a family member, he said.

Two of the children had suffered "serious" injuries from beatings, Barnes said. They were treated and turned over to the state Department of Children's Services.

Authorities described Hubbard as white, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and about 215 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Deputies described Reed as white, about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and about 137 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Authorities asked that anyone with information about Hubbard or Reed call 865-828-INFO or 828-3337.

A pair of suspects wanted in connection with a child abuse case have been arrested.

Grainger County deputies say two 24-year-old Amy Reed's children had suffered severe abuse. They put out a warrant for the arrest of Reed and her boyfriend, 22-year-old Michael Hubbard.

Deputies asked the public's help to track down the two, after the children were taken to the hospital and then into Department of Children's Services custody.

Reed and Hubbard were picked up on a traffic stop Sunday morning in Pulaski County, Kentucky. According to the Grainger County Sheriff's Office, both signed extradition waivers Monday morning, and deputies went to pick them up on Tuesday.

Thursday morning, Hubbard and Reed faced a Grainger County Sessions Court judge for the first time, to be arraigned. Bond has been set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is set for Friday, May 15.

Investigators were called to a home in the Blaine area Saturday.

They found three of Reed's children, ages two, five and seven.

Deputies say two of the children had suffered serious physical abuse.

The children were taken to a local hospital for treatment and then placed in DCS custody.

Kimberly Moore found out about the search for her former daughter in-law on Sunday morning.

"My husband saw on the news that three of my grandchildren had been severely abused and taken to Children's Hospital and put in DCS custody they are now in foster care," paternal grandmother Kimberly Moore said.

Moore said she is distraught about the news that her grandchildren were hurt and in foster care. "Angry, hurt, disgusted we're talking about abusing three kids that can't help themselves but somebody cared enough about them that called and I'd like to say thank you."

The childrens' biological father, Randy Reed told 10News he did not have custody of the children because of an assault charge on his record. Now, he's not sure what is going to happen to his daughters and 2 year old son.

"Real hard to find the words, it's just really hard to believe somebody could have actually done this, just seen it happen on the news many times, then it happens to my children," Reed said.
