Police say the minister of the New Life Tabernacle Church is behind bars after he was charged with sexual battery involving a juvenile female member of his church.
Evans Bacon faces charges of sexual battery and lewd and lascivious conduct and molestation. He was arrested Monday following an investigation into the allegations.
Police say Bacon asked the girl to take pictures of herself closeup while she was naked.
He is also accused of touching her inappropriately while they were together at the church building, located at 342 11th Street North. Authorities say the abuse took place over several years.

Evans Justice Bacon of Sanford was arrested Monday on charges of sexual battery, lewd and lascivious molestation, and lewd and lascivious conduct. Police identified him as the minister of the New Life Tabernacle Church on 11th Street North.
According to investigators, the victim in the case was a juvenile member of the church. She told police that Bacon, 58, molested her on several occasions.
