A man accused of stabbing his former wife dozens of times before plowing into her and her boyfriend with his vehicle, killing her, was arrested and charged with murder, authorities said.
Elpidio Ledesma, 36, was arrested by the Kyle Police Department shortly after the incident, which police said took place on the Northeast Side about 8 p.m. Friday night and was recorded on a video surveillance camera.
Ledesma remained Saturday morning at the Hays County Jail, officials said.
Police said the woman's boyfriend was thrown several feet and was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he remained in serious condition Saturday. His identity has not been released.
Sgt. Gabe Trevino, a spokesman for the San Antonio Police Department, said officers were called to the Super 8 motel in the 11000 block of Interstate 35 North, where Cecelia Ann Ledesma, 42, was visiting her boyfriend. When the couple walked out of the motel, Elpidio Ledesma was waiting for them, he said.
“He very viciously and aggressively attacked the ex-wife,” Trevino said. “He stabbed her dozens of times in the parking lot, but she was still alive.”
The woman's boyfriend approached her to help, and Ledesma walked around the corner to where his car was parked, Trevino said. Ledesma then “literally mowed down the female and the boyfriend,” he said, killing Cecelia Ledesma.
Elpidio Ledesma was arrested shortly afterward at his home in Kyle, where Kyle police reportedly found blood on his shoes and clothing as well as damage to his vehicle.
