Wow, this one is still on going, the SWAT team is trying to negotiate with this man, but so far, nada. Will keep an eye this and keep it updated. But my question is 'why take everyone hostage, when it's your wife you're upset with'? I'm glad he's let everyone else go, and I hope it ends peacefully and he doesn't end up killing his wife.

Clinton, Iowa - Several area police departments are on the scene of a standoff at the Iowa Workforce Development Building in Clinton. Witnesses say a man walked into the building around 3pm with a shotgun and two handguns and said, "Are you ready to die?" They say they believe he is upset because his wife tried to leave him 6 weeks ago. Right now, all the witnesses have been let out of the building except the man and his wife. Police have closed off several buildings and parking lots in the surrounding area. The SWAT team is on scene

Holy shit. What a douchebag.

Witnesses say a man walked into the building around 3pm with a shotgun and two handguns and said, "Are you ready to die?"

Asshole should take himself out of the equation and not involve, or hurt anyone else.

Well, looks like it all ended with the crazy man killing himself, thank God he didn't take his wife with him.

Clinton, Iowa - The Iowa Workforce Development Building is a crime scene tonight. That's after an Illinois gunman shot himself after a 5 hour standoff with police.

Law enforcement arrived around 3pm. They say a man with a shotgun and handgun walked into the building and said, "Are you ready to die?" Witnesses say he was upset because his wife tried to leave him 6 weeks ago. She worked inside the building. All the witnesses were let out early on in the standoff. And around 8pm, the gunman let his wife go after talking to negotiators. Then, police say he shot and killed himself.

Witnesses say he had a history of abusing his wife. In Illinois, there was a no contact order for him
