The wife of a man charged with critically injuring his 6-year-old son was also charged in the incident, which happened at their home early Friday. The child remained hospitalized on life-support Sunday.
Santenya Hill, 26, was charged with endangering the health of a child, a misdemeanor, according to a police report.
Hill, who is reportedly 9-months pregnant and who is the stepmother of the injured boy, was arrested Sunday at 2:25 a.m. after she allegedly witnessed her husband Danyiel Larkins physically abuse the child to the point that the child was unconscious, and knowingly and willfully deprived him of medical assistance for over two hours, according to the report.
Larkins, 25, was charged at 11:55 p.m. Saturday with aggravated battery to a child, according to a separate police report.
Officers responding to a report of an injured child found the 6-year-old boy in the home about 3:30 a.m. Friday, police said.
The boy -- who remained on life support Sunday -- was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and transferred to Children’s Memorial Hospital, reportedly in critical condition with acute brain bleeding. The child also suffered numerous bruises and was on a ventilator because he could not breathe on his own, according to a law enforcement source.
Larkins initially claimed the boy was injured when he fell out of bed, police said.http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1524083,w-child-abuse-charges-041309.article
No pics of these poor excuses for parents. Some reports list the dude as Daniel Larkins.
How can anyone watch this happen to a child? Then go along with the cockamamie couch tale?
