If there were a heartless bitch of the year award, this woman would be a contender. If traffic was so heavy how did she expect to get away with this? A bitch and an idiot, what a combo!
A woman who said she kept driving after killing a person because "traffic was too heavy" was arrested today on vehicular homicide and other charges, Boynton Beach police said.
Michele Ammirato, 48, of Boynton Beach was driving in the 2600 block of South Federal Highway Sept. 17 when she struck and killed Priscilla Servant, 87, of Boynton Beach, who was crossing the road, said Stephanie Slater, spokeswoman for the Boynton Beach Police Department. Instead of stopping, Ammirato kept driving despite knowing she had run someone over, Slater said.
When police caught up, they determined Ammirato had been driving on a suspended license and was intoxicated. Test results later showed she had cocaine in her system, according to her arrest report.
Police last week closed down that section of the roadway to reconstruct the crash.
Ammirato was arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter, DUI manslaughter because of the presence of cocaine in her system, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.
