A Fond du Lac man held on $100,000 bail for 20 counts of child pornography may have been studying up on how to maintain a drug house, according to details in an affidavit for a drug search warrant.
Timothy S. Letz, 37, of 947 Martin Ave., faces a maximum sentence of 500 years prison and a fine up to $2 million for the child pornography charges. (Now THAT is a sentence)
The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation handled the investigation of pornography found on CDs inside the Martin Avenue home owned by Letz's mother.
An undercover peer-to-peer computer investigation identified a computer, later identified by subpoena as being located in Letz's residence, as participating in the offer to share files of known child pornography via a peer-to-peer file sharing network, according to a press release from Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen.
The pictures involved girls believed to be as young as 10, according to the criminal complaint.
While searching for child porn on a computer located in the basement of the Martin Avenue home, a DCI computer expert found out the computer was allegedly used to view a Web site informing people on how to maintain a drug house.
Fond du Lac Detective Lee Mikulec found a book in an upstairs bedroom about how to manage an indoor marijuana growing operation, according to court documents.
Capt. Steve Klein said Thursday that four handguns, seven shotguns and 12 military assault rifles ranging from an M1 to an SKS were found inside Letz's home.
