At least that's what his parents said, before he tried to have them killed.

(Lt to Rt, Jett, Garcia)
Jacob Jett,18, paid 2 men $260.00,a debit card with pin number, the alarm code and three handguns to kill his adoptive parents, police say.
Richard and Robyn Parnell were apparently too strict, and he wanted to inherit according to prosecutors.
Robyn said she has not slept since Jacob and his friend Joseph Garcia,17, were arrested in the plot. Her husband has health problems and is not doing well either.
Unlike most people when presented with a murder-for-hire plot, Garcia actually put his friend in touch with someone who might do this instead of law enforcement. One of the 2 men in charge of the killing was picked up on a parole violation and spilled the story. Police contacted his future accomplice and corroborated the murder plan.
Police don't believe the men were actually going to commit the murder, just basically steal the boys money and guns.
"It came out of nowhere," said Robyn Parnell. "He was a very good child."
