At least that's what his parents said, before he tried to have them killed.

(Lt to Rt, Jett, Garcia)

Jacob Jett,18, paid 2 men $260.00,a debit card with pin number, the alarm code and three handguns to kill his adoptive parents, police say.

Richard and Robyn Parnell were apparently too strict, and he wanted to inherit according to prosecutors.

Robyn said she has not slept since Jacob and his friend Joseph Garcia,17, were arrested in the plot. Her husband has health problems and is not doing well either.

Unlike most people when presented with a murder-for-hire plot, Garcia actually put his friend in touch with someone who might do this instead of law enforcement. One of the 2 men in charge of the killing was picked up on a parole violation and spilled the story. Police contacted his future accomplice and corroborated the murder plan.

Police don't believe the men were actually going to commit the murder, just basically steal the boys money and guns.

"It came out of nowhere," said Robyn Parnell. "He was a very good child."

It takes chutzpa to have your parents murdered so you can inherit and you're adopted -- double ingratitude to the people who nurtured you. Little creep. Hope he learns to appreciate loving parents while he's being bent over in jail.

$260 to commit murder? I think for $260 I would steal their guns and money too. And then I'd give them a good kick in the ass for being stupid enough to think someone would commit murder for $260.

An Missouri teenager gets two years probation for introducing his high-school classmate to two would-be hit men.

The sentence 18-year-old Joseph Garcia of Independence received Friday in county court is the same one imposed last month against 19-year-old Jacob Jett.

Prosecutors say Jett gave the would-be hit men $260 and three handguns to kill his adoptive parents because he thought they were too strict and wanted to inherit their money.

The plot came to light after one of the would-be hit men was picked up for a parole violation. Prosecutors have said they didn't believe the men intended on committing the murders.

Garcia pleaded guilty in October to two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

His attorney, Gabriel Domjan, says the parents have forgiven their son and his client.

Two years probation for attempted murder? Is that the minimum for that charge? If they reduced the charges to something else and got two years probation I get that. But pleading guilty to attempted murder and just getting probation makes no sense to me. Don't tell me the charges get dismissed and the record erased after that please.

And the ungrateful little bastard's parents have FORGIVEN him! Nothing like giving him a second opportunity to learn from his mistake! Maybe next time, he'll just shoot them himself and cut out the middleman!

Holy shit. I'd change my will to disinherit him, make sure he knows it and move out of state while he was out for the day.

Of course now they have ample evidence of a self defense claim should they wish to return the favor to Jacob.
