VINELAND -- A Vineland teacher's aide has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly kissing a 14-year-old male student and sending him sexually suggestive photos, according to Vineland police.
Lauren Breslin, 23, of Dove Court, Vineland, an instructional aide at Veterans Memorial Middle School, was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child. She is expected to appear in Superior Court this morning.
The alleged actions came to light after the child's mother found photos of a woman in lingerie on her son's cell phone, according to police. The mother recognized the woman as one of her son's instructional aides and contacted police, authorities said.
The student told police that he had been involved in a relationship with Breslin for the last month in which he was kissed multiple times on the lips during school hours. The student also said Breslin had sent him photos on her cellular phone and had called him after school hours.
Police responded to the aide's home early this morning and took her into custody. She did not speak with detectives about the incident because she had retained an attorney, police said.
She was lodged in Cumberland County Jail in default of $100,000 cash bail.
Her cell phone was seized as evidence and will be examined after a search warrant has been issued, police said.

Bail was reduced today for a 23-year-old Vineland School District instructional aide charged with sending a nude photo of herself to a 14-year-old student and having other inappropriate contact with him.
As her distraught parents looked on, Lauren Breslin was brought into Superior Court for a bail hearing this morning.
Superior Court Judge John Waters reduced Breslin's bail from $100,000 to $25,000 cash or bond, under the condition she have no unsupervised contact with any person under the age of 18.

That includes the victim, who was only identified in court by his initials.
Assistant Prosecutor Dara Paley requested that Breslin also have no contact with Veterans Memorial Middle School.

While Breslin's father kept himself composed, her mother covered her face with her hands and gasped when her daughter was brought into the courtroom in shackles and an orange county jail jumpsuit.
Breslin has no past criminal record, Swift noted.
