"is desiring prayers fr wed. in my court trial that the lord will show the jury in innocent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Nope... Guilty!

GRAYSON — A Carter County jury on Thursday night found Patricia Renee Valandingham guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.

The jury deliberated for less than two hours before deciding Valandingham plotted with Christopher Stephens to attempt to kill Brent Valandingham by poisoning his McChicken sandwich at the Olive Hill McDonald’s in January 2008.

An agreed sentence worked out between the defense and the prosecution after the verdict set Patricia Valandingham’s sentence at 11 years in prison.

Patricia Valandingham, who has been free on bond throughout her trial, was immediately taken into custody. Before being led away to jail by bailiffs, the teary defendant removed her wedding ring and handed it to her husband, the intended victim of the plot.

A final sentencing hearing is set for 3 p.m. May 18.

Patricia Valandingham will spend more time in jail under the sentencing agreement than her co-conspirator and former lover, Stephens.

If I had been her husband I would have thrown the damned ring across the room. I wouldn't have even wanted it within my line of sight.

Aw, wasn't that the sweetest gesture? I can't believe she kept wearing it until that point. Must have been a defense tactic.

And far more satisfying IMHO :tongue2:

Are McDonald's chicken products just evil or what? Seems to be a lot of crime linked to them. Perhaps this is one for the conspiracy theory thread.

OLIVE HILL, KY (AP) - A former McDonald's employee who was having an affair with a co-worker has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for trying to poison her husband's chicken sandwich.

The Independent of Ashland reports that Patricia Valandingham received the sentence Monday in Carter County Circuit Court. She could have faced 20 years.

A jury found Valandingham guilty in April of conspiracy to commit murder.

Former McDonald's employee Christopher Stephens of Olive Hill had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit assault in the case. He testified against Valandingham.
