A drunken Winona woman involved in two hit-and-run wrecks Friday told police she was rushing home to breastfeed her baby, police said.

Michelle Elizabeth Bush, 26, rear-ended one car just after noon at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Huff Street, sped away and crashed into another car near Fourth and Franklin streets about an hour later, according to police reports.
“I gotta go. The cops are after me,” she told the second motorist before speeding off again, according to the police.

Officers stopped her damaged 1993 Honda Accord two minutes later at Fifth and Harriet streets, where she was westbound at 48 mph in a 30 mph zone.

“She was driving like a bat out of hell,” said Winona Police Sgt. Gary Hoeppner.

Bush appeared intoxicated, and a breath test later measured her blood-alcohol concentration at 0.19 percent, more than twice the legal limit to drive a car, police said. She was cited for careless driving, fleeing the scene of an accident, speeding and driving while intoxicated.

Bush said she was on her way home to breastfeed a baby when police asked why she fled, Hoeppner said. No one was injured in either wreck.

She doesn't need to be breastfeeding her baby anyhow being drunk.

“She was driving like a bat out of hell,”

She needs to be thinking about other people at this stage of the game not feeding her baby she can have baby formula. She could have killed someone and herself, she was being a very selfish cunt of a BITCH!

Stupid bitch. Because that's what any responsible mother with a breastfeeding child does. Gets fucking wasted, and then gets behind the wheel of a car to rush home.

That's lame. I hate her just for making a story about a DUI hit and run about breastfeeding. Yeah, I'm sure that's why she left the scene - not the bit where she was DRUNK.

ACCIDENT...SPEEDING...INTOXICATED...BREASTFEEDING. ...not words that should be found together in an article.

An absolute, complete idiot. She'll probably say, "I was trying to do the right thing for my baby"....no, you idiot, the best thing is not having you as this childs mother. Much safer with someone else caring for her and feeding her a bottle with formula.

If she really was trying to get home to nurse then, she should be charged w/ intent to harm also ! Did she really think that the cop would say " Oh, I'm so sorry ma'am, I completely understand that your child needs his/her alcoholic breast milk... I'm sorry for wasting your time on these silly hit & runs".
