Yup. Obama just laid the smack down on Hillary for his 9th win in a row. Look like to will be a double-digit win. The best part was seeing them cut away from Hillary's speech to go to Obama. Classic.
In other news, McCain won handily and his acceptance speech was one of the finest political speeches that I have heard in my entire life. I was clapping and pumping my fists and looking at my wife like, "Can you believe he just said that?". It was brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. He may have won two votes for President already. It will be tough for Obama to counter his vision of America.
Regardless, Hillary won't be involved unless she steals the nomination and implodes the Democratic Party. So, we have two contrasting, but moderate candidates. I will be happy with either, but for very, very different reasons.
Congratulations Obama, I know it is every black man's dream to soundly fuck a powerful white woman, and you have done that tonight. Hillary's fantasies of attaining supreme power are toast. Tonight she went from becoming a chapter in history textbooks to a foot-note.

Make it 10 in a row. And the spread in Wisconsin kept growing all night. Ended up being 58% Obama to 42% Clinton. That is a massive win for a state without a large black population. Obama killed Clinton with just about every group. I think he even got more of the woman vote (or right at the same amount).
Wow, Hillary. You have taken a sure thing and pissed it away. Standing, most likely.

It tripped me out last night when Obama said he needed to give a "Shout out" to so and so...
It sounded so natural, too.
The guy has a cult-like following. People are just trying to touch him, girls are swooning at rallies, he has to stop his speech and implore someone to "bring this young lady some water". It is amazing.
You can totally see how a magnetic personality could create their own religion. What Jesus, Joseph Smith, and Mohamed must have been like. The talking heads are likening him to a rock star. Which I think is great. It's about time kids starting looking up to politicians as their idols, instead of movie starlets and athletes.

In theory, that's fine. But, in practice, it means they are more likely to get involved in the democratic process. With respect to Obama, that means growing government and further usurping individual liberty. This guy isn't exactly Paul or Goldwater.
But let us forget the partisan side of it for a moment. I worry about widespread idolizing of politicians a means to achieving the sort of dangerous personality cults that hurt Cambodia, China, the USSR, and Zimbabwe. In our system that is a bit harder to pull off. But, as pointed out in another thread, some of the world's worst leaders came to power through free elections and bloc-voting.

Don't fret. The kids don't actually vote. I enjoy them looking up to a politician, but I would only get worried if they stopped sleeping in on voting-day.
Trust me, I want my vote to count for more, percentage-wise.
