BRIDGEPORT -- A Marina Village mother was arrested on several charges after reportedly beating her son and escaping police custody.
Chadre Ricks,. 20, was charged with risk of injury to a minor, interfering with police, escape from custody and second-degree breach of peace following the 5:30 p.m. incident Thursday.
Police said Ricks was seen outside the complex striking her 3-year-old son on the behind and pushing him to the ground.
When officers arrived, she fled and attempted to disguise herself with a change of clothes, police said.
After being placed in the rear of a police car, she ran away after someone opened the rear door, police said, but she was soon taken into custody in an apartment on Gregory Street. Rick's son, examined by medics, had no sign of physical injury, police said.
