A 55-year-old county dispatcher from Glassboro has been charged with fourth-degree endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation found hundreds of images on his home computer of children from ages 6 to 16 being sexually abused, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.
Nicholas J. Zelinsky was arrested Wednesday night when he arrived home from work and was released this morning on his own recognizance. He is to be suspended from his job as a dispatcher for the Gloucester County Communications Center in Clayton.
The investigation was begun by Monroe Township Det. Gene Sulzbach using techniques to detect computer file-sharing activities.
Sulzbach, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, notified the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office's cyber crimes unit of the case, and GCPO Sgt. Steve LaPorta participated in the arrest and seizure of Zelinsky's home PC. The Glassboro Police Department also assisted.
