Sunday afternoon, Scott used a calling card to call a friend from a pay phone.

Investigators say she told the friend she was okay, but did not say anything about her boyfriend.

"We're just hoping that a third party is not involved," said Warren. "and that something tragic has not happened to them."

It has not been reported where the pay phone is located.

According to someone close to the missing girl, the call has been traced to the Chicago area. It was made with a calling card, but no one has stated if its one you buy or one associated with a land line long distance account.

Stranger and stranger...

I read a source (http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/287/story/84884.html) that posted the location as McLean, IL in the 309 area code. That's a small farm town on I-55 South of Bloomington-Normal. Kind of a truckstop at a wide spot halfway between Chicago and St. Louis. Curious indeed!

Is KB your source?
I think she used mapquest, which is fine, but using a gps would be better. I have been toying with plugging them into my gps, but its cold and its out in the van. Not that it matters by a few miles, either way. Do you think they're still there or they've moved on and are even further away?

There is a lot of conflicting info over there-
I think the best person to listen to is that student at the school.
They left just after midnight, in a room mates car. They've only been together since Halloween(so November really)

They said they left with no money, cells,or id- but obviously they had cash. Also, the friend said they both worked in the restaurant industry, which means they could've had LOTS of cash tips that no one realized they had.

Still odd, but not as sinister as it once seemed.

Running off to Canada, perhaps?

Rhode Island to Canada via Chicago? I think they're on a beach in California by now.

But why run anywhere? Why not just move? Rather unfortunate for the person whose car they (in effect) stole. Something's up, I feel. People just don't get in someone else's car and set off for Tahiti or Paris. Or maybe they do and my life is duller than most.

The "stolen" car was said to have been the better of the three cars the room mates had. If they knew they were going far would be my guess. It's also my guess they didn't realize the call would be traced to IL.

An article today says the families have not heard from them personally, and the police have asked them to stop talking to the press.

Seriously, when two twenty one year olds take off in a friends car, all it really is,is grand theft by conversion. Especially now that they've called the friend.

From the Providence Journal:

The borrowed car in which they drove away has now been reported as stolen.

Scott said she could not linger on the phone because the police might trace the call, Weston said the friend reported. The call originated from the 309 area code, in McLean, Ill., he said.

They have been battling once in a while,” Weston said of the couple, and Querzoli had filed a simple-assault complaint against Scott on Valentine’s Day afternoon, about 10 hours before they drove off together.

There is surveillance video of her making this call, but he is not seen on the video, nor the outside video while she is making this call.

What do you think? Worth a front page? I would just hate to post these two and it turns out to be two idiots who stole a car.

Probably just two idiots that stole a car. But, hey, if it makes people read...

I don't know, its strange though. His parents haven't officially filed anything and hers has, but its her people hear and see. I set up a googlenews alert for this, so if it ends up she killed him and ran off we'll know pretty quick.

We're 2nd in the google search on "Amy Scott and Daniel Q...." and there hasn't been a lot of new info, not like some of these that are updated every hour. I've only seen one or 2 articles blasted through the NE daily, nothing really original. It could be people looking for a daily run down. In that case... HI!

From Fauxnews- Providence

Police have officially scaled back search for missing students.

Well... I'm surprised it took this long to be honest. They are at least half a country away, if not farther by now.

The following is PURE speculation on my part:

We see her,we hear from her, but he's not seen. I'm starting to think the pushy shovy that he turned her in for maybe pushed her over the edge. He's either hurt or dead, and she's on the run.

That being said,I hope they both turn up safe for their parents' sakes. I've seen his dad speak a couple times now, and you can see he's hurting not knowing whats going on. I know her mom hasn't talked to her, but there has been contact by her... but his dad is in the dark.

Amy's mother states that Amy called her and told her that she is in grave danger. Daniel's father is stating that Amy's mother will not tell the police where Amy is, but that she is no longer with Daniel.

Daniel's dad received a note, supposedly from his son, stating that he was on a road trip with Amy. The father stated he believes it is his son's handwriting, but that the note is suspicious.

Per Greta just now, Dad said he just found out Amy has been home for approximately 4 hours. But is not talking. No word about Dan.

Other than Greta, there is no written word on this.

There is nothing new after Greta.

Laura Tool (Amy's mom) told Daniel's father that they went their separate ways in NY, and she called for a ride home. Thats all she will say.

Daniels family is still actively looking for him.

What bullshit.

I know they are adults, but if it were my child, I think it would take all my strength not to waterboard the bitch into talking.

But that's just me.

Subject: Update: Dan Querzoli & Amy Scott

Update:

According to Brian Warren, his son, Daniel Querzoli has been found alive– in Pennsylvania and is currently in police custody.
Brian Warren says his son was arrested for being in a stolen vehicle. Daniel told police he was scared for his life- that someone was chasing after him.
Brian Warren is trying to get in contact with his son right now in the Harrisburg, PA area- he has not spoken to him yet, but is anxious to hear his voice. Brian says he is awaiting instructions from authorities on whether or not he can travel to Pennsylvania to see his son. He is not yet sure when this will happen. Brian Warren says he does not yet know the details on what happened with his son and how he ended up in Pennsylvania.
In the meantime, Brian Warren says Amy Scott is now with her family in southern New Jersey after being picked up in New York last night. The details of her circumstances are unclear at this time, but Brian says Amy Scott’s family may have hired an attorney.

Brian Warren says he is extremely grateful to all the viewers for their concern and support.

The fear is catching:

The case gets more complicated. NBC10 learned on Wednesday night that several of Scott's roommates have moved out of their apartment. They told a neighbor they fear for their lives.

Police say they are in contact with those students to try to determine why they are fearful and to offer assistance.

Stay with NBC 10 News and http://www.turnto10.com as more details become available.
