Wilton Manors police arrested a man accused of hitting his 70-year-old neighbor in the head with a hammer and stealing his money.
Terrance Stubblefield, 39, was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated battery on a person over 65 and armed robbery, police said Monday.
The attack happened about 1 a.m. Friday in the 2500 block of North Andrews Avenue, after Stubblefield's neighbor asked him to pay back $20 he had lent him, police said. Stubblefield told the neighbor, whose identity wasn't released by police, that he needed change for $50, authorities said.
The neighbor returned to his apartment to see if he had change. Stubblefield followed and hit him with a hammer, cutting his head, police said. He stole $120 and fled, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital and received staples to his head. Stubblefield was arrested and taken to the Broward County Click here for restaurant inspection reports Jail.
