A 27-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment over the weekend, authorities said.
Angela Bellifemini was discovered with neck stab wounds in her Spring Street apartment around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Newton police.
The Sussex County Medical Examiner's Office classified her death a homicide, police said.
Bellifemini's brick building was cordoned off with yellow tape into the evening, police said. She was the sole tenant of the apartment.
The Newton Police Department, the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office and the New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating the crime.
No other information was immediately available.
