MILFORD, Del. (AP) - March 15, 2009 -- State police say a deadbeat dad crashed his SUV after trying to flee when he was pulled over for speeding.
Police say a trooper tried to pull over Eric Darling of Dover Saturday afternoon when he was clocked doing 68 mph in a 50 mph zone in Milford.
Darling slowed down and pulled onto the shoulder before speeding off. The trooper followed him, and Darling lost control on a curve, veering into a ditch. His vehicle ended up rolling over several times.
A computer check showed Darling was wanted by Kent County Family Court for being in arrears on child support.
Darling suffered non-life-threatening injuries and will face several charges related to the chase and crash when he's released from the hospital.
