Long time reader – well 6 months anyway – I’m not going to try and match the wittiness or sarcasm of other posters here. So as a newbee, I will just stay low and off the radar…

A 25-year-old man was charged with beating his girlfriend's 6-year-old son so badly he had to undergo emergency brain surgery, Chicago police said this morning.

John Martinez...was charged with aggravated battery to a child and domestic battery, both felonies.

The boy is in serious condition at Children's Memorial Hospital, police said.

Police said the 300-pound Martinez, who is the boyfriend of the boy's mother, allegedly punched the boy in the head at their home on Tuesday. Police said the boy had visible bruising to his face, arms and chest.

Another loser who prefers beating kids. Those people defending him should all leave their freaking kids alone with this bastard. And the "blood condition" theory? Does that convenient blood condition cause brain swelling(I assume there is swelling since the emergency brain surgery and will correct this if I am wrong)?!?

I am so sick of people defending these assholes! My former stepfather seemed like a great guy, bit high strung and excitable, kid like even. Once he married my mother he beat the hell out of her, sexual abuse was also one of his past times, didn't matter woman or child to him. But if you asked people who were his friends, people who knew him for years and saw him married three times not many would say they saw it coming. So my point is I guess these people shouldn't be jumping to his defense because honestly they just know they guy he sells to the public.
