SHILOH, Ill. -- A woman was found stabbed to death early today in an apartment in Shiloh. Police have a suspect in custody.
Police aren't releasing information about the victim yet.
Chief Jim Stover said the woman was found dead in the apartment in the 500 block of Williamsburg Drive. Shiloh police got the call at 6:47 a.m. and went to the apartment building to find the crime scene.
According to dispatchers, Shiloh police got a call this morning from police in another jurisdiction that a man had admitted killing a woman in Shiloh. He apparently had driven away from the scene and told police.
Stover wouldn't disclose where in Illinois the man was found.
Shiloh has called in crime scene investigators with the Illinois State Police.
