http://i40.tinypic.com/3313ms6.jpgThe Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office received a 911 call from a resident in Lake Worth on Saturday about a home invasion.
The caller advised he was struggling with a male intruder in his mother’s bedroom.
Deputies responded and later identified the subject as Carlyle Blackburne.
So far, investigators discovered that Blackburne used a screwdriver to pry open a window and gain entry to the home making his way to a rear bedroom on the first floor and attacking the 68-year-old female resident while she slept in her bed.
It was later discovered that Blackburne is a registered sex offender.
Both the mother and son received minor injuries from the encounter with Blackburne and were treated by paramedics at the scene.
Blackburne was transported to JFK Hospital for medical clearance for minor injuries sustained by struggling with the victim.
He is expected to be charged with armed burglary to an occupied dwelling, aggravated battery on an elderly person, felony battery, possession of burglary tools and other pending charges.http://www.wpbf.com/news/18885298/detail.html
