BOISE -- A Boise woman has been arrested and charged with four counts of felony injury to a child after police found four children had been left home overnight Sunday.

Around 8 a.m. Monday, Boise Police responded to a 911 call at a home in the 7900 block of West Colehaven Court in Boise.

Witnesses told police that four children, ages 12, 9, 5, and 3, had been home alone for at least 10 hours.

The 12-year-old girl had gone to a neighbor's house to report the incident.

According to witnesses, this had happened before and there was no phone in the home in case of emergency.

Around 9 a.m., Jennifer Ann Collantes, 31, of Boise, returned home and was taken into police custody. She was booked into the Ada County Jail.

The children are currently in the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

Collantes was arraigned this afternoon. She was ordered to have no contact with her children until further notice from the court.

Seeing these stories always chaps my ass, but I am particularly sensitive to mothers that leave their kids alone while they go galavanting off to the land of Godknowswhere. This is why there are babysitters and if you can't afford one or you can't get one when it is convenient for you, you don't just leave your kids by themselves. When is that going to sink in with parents? I know, I know, probably like never. What a bitchmonkey.

Bitchmonkey...I like that! I just can't understand how something anything no matter how addicting can take precedence over your kids?

not saying she was doing drugs but really what else could she be doing? unless shes a whore, in that case working all night, she should be swimming in dough.

Agreed....if I dont have a sitter ( One I TRUST), and my baby can't go....I'm not fuckin goin. Bottom line. Dumb bitch.

My mom did this to me so she could spend the night with her lousy excuse for a penis. Another possibility anyway.
