A 26-year-old Spring Lake man is charged with killing one man and shooting another Friday.
Kevin Miguel Hutchinson, of 337 Crest Circle, is charged with first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and cocaine possession, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators said Hutchinson shot and killed 23-year-old Terence Daniel Small of 1006 Gigi St. in Fayetteville.
Michael Leonard Woodard, Jr., 28, of 928 Pedro Drive in Fayetteville, was also injured from gunfire, investigators said.
Investigators said Small and Woodard were found in a car parked near Shaw Mill and Murchison roads.
Debbie Tanna, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said details of the shooting have not been released.
“We’re still trying to figure out what happened,’’ said Debbie Tanna. “This is a very large crime scene.’’
Woodard was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center by ambulance. Details of Woodard’s injuries have not been released.
Hutchinson is being held without bail at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
He is scheduled to make a first court appearance Monday in Cumberland County District Court.
