An emotional plea from the family of a man police say is on the run after abducting his 2-year-old daughter.
[...]
"Just come home, Tom," said Mary Love, Woodside's mother. "Just come home."

Woodside's mother and sister said they want it all to end, but they said they understand why he felt he had to take his daughter and run.

"He really thinks he's just keeping her safe," said sister Misty Woodside-Mitchell.
[...]
Woodside's family in Alabama said he went to these extremes because he was tired of a custody battle with Breanna's mother.

Police said Woodside and Breanna were last seen in Fort Payne, Ala., where they had dinner at McDonald's with his friend, Bobby Clements. Clements and Woodside's family say they haven't heard from him since.

Police said their search for the pair has gone nationwide, and that Woodside is considered armed and dangerous. Woodside's family disagrees, saying despite what many may think, Breanna is in good hands.

"Ya'll need to know he's not dangerous and this little girl is his whole life," said Woodside-Mitchell. "He knows that if she's with him, she's getting fed, she's getting her diaper changed, she ain't got drugs laying around. She's being took care of and he knows that."

In January Woodside was arrested for menacing and terroristic threatening. The records show Breanna's mother and boyfriend filed charges against Woodside after he threatened them both when he came to pick Breanna up.

A judge ordered Woodside to have no contact with Breanna's mother and her boyfriend, except at the police department when they exchanged custody.http://www.wlky.com/news/18836696/detail.html

Police said that the ending would not have been possible without the public's help.

"As the chief in Alabama said, this is the best example of authorities working on a state, national, and international level that he has ever witnesses,” FBI Agent Clay Mason said.

Police also lauded the Amber Alert system for quickly getting the information out to people across the nation.

"It was invaluable, the Amber Alert was the reason that people spotted the father and daughter and called authorities,” Frankfort police Maj. Fred Deaton said.http://www.wlky.com/news/18847159/detail.html
