Darlington County (WLTX) - A tax preparer from Darlington County is being accused of taking her clients tax refunds for herself.
U.S. Attorney W. Walter Wilkins says 46-year-old Jacqueline Gibson has been charged with mail fraud.
Gibson is the owner of Jackie Tax Service in Hartsville.
Federal agents say had her clients' tax refund checks mailed to her instead of her clients. Agents say she then kept the cash for herself.
Gibson could receive a maximum of a $250,000 find and 20 years in prison.
