12-year-old boy gunned down while sitting in car in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Police say a teenager fired five shots into a parked car in Southwest Philadelphia, hitting a 12-year-old boy sitting inside in the chest and hand.

The boy was listed in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after Wednesday afternoon's shooting.

Police Lt. John Walker says investigators believe the shooter had an ongoing feud with the victim and are trying to figure out how the dispute started.

Ingrid Wilcox teaches at a day care center near the crime scene. She says the victim's mother parked the car outside and was going in to get her 4-year-old daughter when the teen started shooting.

The teen fled on foot.

It was supposedly over a drug debt, per the Philly news. The mother refuses to believe her 12 yr old was dealing or involved in drugs. What really sucks is this happened so close to school and around a lot of kids! Not sure what happened between the gunman (also a kid) and the victim, but their little beef endangered a lot of other kids and that's bullshit. If you want to play street games and be thugs, go to Fairmount Park and do it on your own! I am so tired of gunplay and people getting killed here in Philly. Another cop just got shot today and we just buried one last week. Un-fucking-believable.
