Authorities are looking for a Howard Young Prison inmate who was released from the facility by mistake Friday.

Charles Thomas is awaiting court action on charges including carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and attempted first-degree robbery.

He was brought to the prison January 14th, was being held on 108 thousand dollars bond, and was released due to a staff error.

Thomas is considered dangerous, and anyone who knows his whereabouts is being asked to call the Department of Correction or their local police.

HA! That happened in PA a few years ago, they still haven't found the guy. Did they have a similar name or something?

Down here we have a shortage of staff at our Prisons. Just opened a new one in Tabor City and even with the staff they have already, it's undermanned. Still haven't hired a full team. It's crazy. After a hiring freeze they now have cancellations for job listings inside the prison. Meanwhile people are quitting or getting fired for whatever reason, and no one is hired to take their place.

The "Powers That Be" did a great job with our state finances. I can see this happening here.

That sucks so bad. Our state is starting to lay off state workers, but I don't know how deep into departments that it's going. I hope they catch the guy, maybe he'll be stupid enough to get arrested again lol.
