Joshua Murray was booked the Osceola County Jail, and the case was referred to the Department of Children and Families, the sheriff's office said in a statement.
The victim is a student at Boggy Creek Elementary School who uses a wheelchair, the statement said.

The 5 year old, who is physically handicapped and uses a wheelchair, told the officer she was told to tell people her sister hit her with a soccer ball when, in fact, a family member slapped her for misbehaving.
The student was taken to a local hospital where doctors confirmed the injuries were substantial because the incident occurred more than 15 hours before, and a red hand print and bruising was still visible on the child's face.
