NORTH LAS VEGAS -- A North Las Vegas man has been arrested in connection with the burning of a 1-year-old, whose mother is his girlfriend.
On Feb. 12, Chandler Lewis, 24, was booked on one felony count of child abuse and neglect with substantial bodily harm and one gross misdemeanor count of child endangerment, officer Chrissie Coon said.
Lewis was looking after a 1-year-old victim who had been burned by hot water on Jan. 24 in an apartment at 2607 Donna Street. The child remains in serious condition in the hospital, Coon said.
Coon said Chandler was already in custody at the Clark County Detention Center on unrelated charges. Detectives with the North Las Vegas Police Department re-booked Chandler on two warrants for the above charges that were issued by the Clark County District Attorney's office

North Las Vegas police are investigating an incident that left a 1-year-old boy with serious burns to his lower body.
At about 11a.m. Saturday on Donna Street, police received a call that a child was burned by hot water in an apartment.
When responding officers arrived, medics were attending to the toddler. He was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives are investigating this incident to determine whether criminal charges will be filed
